YOU'VE GOT QUESTIONS, I'VE GOT ANSWERS.
Here are the most frequently asked questions I get about shoot details, gear used, and the freelance life. Take a moment to read through them, and don’t hesitate to ask more!
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
How many weddings do you take per year?
Each year is different, I am booking less in 2020 due to graduation and uncertain future plans, but planning to book around 10 for 2021.
How long have you been a photographer?
I have had a camera since 14, but have been getting paid to shoot since 18, so around 5 years now!
What camera gear do you use?
I use a Canon 5D mark IV with a Sigma 35 mm f1.4 Art Lens. I started with a Canon Rebel t3
What is your turnaround time?
It really depends on the season, for sessions I try to get photos back within 3 weeks, and for weddings, max 10 weeks. Since I am new to full time freelancing without being a full-time student, I am sure my turnarounds will be quicker than ever.
Do you offer video services?
Absolutely! I have shot a handful of wedding videos in the past, and have been cultivating a passion for it over last year since shooting a short film. My brother and I offer a photo / video package deal as well. We cover your whole day, and share a similar vision, one cohesive unit. You can find him at Drew Dau Films.
Do you give RAW unedited photos?
No, I do not! I believe half of my creative process shines through editing. If you feel you’re missing something– just ask.
How do you deliver the photos once the wedding or session is over?
I sort through the masses for you and eliminate any that are “blinky or blurry”. Usually cutting the stock in half. Weddings typically get anywhere from 1000 to 1500 photos back from their day. I deliver through a high-resolution website! You can order thank yous, prints, frames, and photo books directly through the website!
Can you Photoshop us?
I do not Photoshop because I believe in the beauty of natural photos, seeing you as you truly are. Some photographers see it differently, but that’s what makes my photos the way they are. When it comes to unexpected blemishes or scars, I can try to work my magic!
What do we wear? How many outfits should we bring?
I love helping you style, it’s one of my favorite parts– Check out this wear guide!
What if there's bad weather?
I usually try to embrace shoot happen no matter what– rainy / cloudy days are my favorite to shoot on, but if it’s too harsh we can always reschedule.
